I’m looking to buy a new tripod to hold all weights of my cameras (two Nikons and my Mamiya RB67), but I’m not sure what to go with. I hear Manfrotto/Bogen is really good, but I need something I can trust to hold the weight of my Mamiya especially. If possible, I’m looking for one that won’t break my budget (most tripods I looked at online were $200-$300). In particular, I’m just looking for one with head, holds the weight of my Mamiya, and has good length legs. Any model suggestions (so I can look for them on eBay)? Thank you!

Hi All,
A pal of mine asked me to come by and take a couple of shots of his restaurant.
The restaurant is a fine dining italian restaurant located downtown. What can you suggest for lenses to use and lighting to set up as well what kinda shots to take.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a Nikon D80 with a 18-200VR lens and an SB-800 along with a manfrotto tripod.

I bought a Manfrotto modo 785 B and when I place my camera on its place and move the thing while shooting a video to follow the object, it doesn’t move that easily and there is a noise while i move it that is heard in that recording afterwards. it shouldn’t be there right ? in whatever position i stop to move the thing, it stays there without falling down, but it should fall down i think as there is a button that exists for the reason of stopping the head in whatever place. should i go back and change it or are they all like that ?

I just bought a Max-i 347GB. Seems to be pretty sturdy, folds small and basically seems to do everything I need. It was $10 cheaper than a Manfrotto I was looking at, but seems to be just as good if not better. Anyone have any experiences from this company and the quality of their products?
This is what I got.

Which Tripod Ball Head Is Better?

Posted by: Photographer | Comments (1)

Which tripod ball head is better, the Manfrotto 488RC2 or the Manfrotto 322RC2? The second is about $10 more expensive. I will be using either of them with a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod.
Thanks.

This is by no means a planned test. M. Jonsson and I were together at the Las Vegas Belagio fountain and filmed at the same time. The scene view is different. We just thought some may like to see o…

Which Tripod For Nikon D40?

Posted by: Photographer | Comments (2)

I have a D40 with a kit lens, a 55-200mm VR and a 50mm F1.8D. I am thinking to get a tripod but don’t want to spend that much. I have read that cheap ones are not good and not worth it, so I am willing to spend up to $200, but best is around $100.
I want a lightweight one, and easy to handle. Since I am new to photography, can someone suggest some choices for me?
Is the Bogen_Manfrotto 190XB any good? Thank you very much.
